Making dating fun . . .

My friend Janelle is doing a totally fun dating adventure. Her web site (http://funwith31.wordpress.com/) talks more about it, but basically she is going to go on 31 dates in 31 days and blog about it. I think it's such a great, fun, entertaining idea, and she rocks for putting herself out like this. I'm excited to see how it all progresses.

SO . . . she needs help finding guys willing to go on one of the dates and then be blogged about. If you know of any single guys in the Las Vegas area (or who will be in Las Vegas from April 27 to May 27) who would be willing to go on a non-traditional date that will then be blogged about, with pictures, please pass on her web site and ask him to contact her.

Janelle is a great woman, and I can vouch that any man you send her way will be in safe, and wonderfully fun, hands.

Thanks for your help!

Recommendation

I know many of you are always looking for a good book, and I have an excellent suggestion: the Fablehaven series by Brandon Mull. I just finished book 4 (there's only one more in the series) and it was great. It's fantasy, but I think even if you're not into that genre you'll enjoy it. The books are easy reads, too, which I always like. And the author is a fellow BYU alumni, so I do love supporting that. :)

Speaking of recommendations, I also highly recommend the show Lie to Me. It's enthralling.

And that's it. I'm boring lately, sorry. But I do have a cute new nephew!

VW makes more than confusing commercials

Sometimes at work I have a bit more spare time than I have actual work. At those times, I surf the Internet. A lot. And I find interesting and sometimes hilarious sites. And sometimes I even find things to occupy more than one minute of my time (as an aside, yes, I do realize I'm lucky to have a job, even a slow one).

One fun site I found is this Baby Maker program on Volkswagen. It's hilarious, and every time you upload the pictures you get a different baby. You can make it look more like the mom or more like the dad, which is totally fun. The only problem is the baby has creepy eyes that follow the mouse. But you should all try it out. And if you already have kids, I'd love to hear how Baby Maker compares with the real thing. Ü

Here's our hybrid.

Pride: a high or inordinate opinion of one's own dignity, importance, merit, or superiority

I've hesitated to show the scrapbook I made for Lindsay because it seems like bragging and fishing for compliments (this could totally be an Ask Miss Tacky post). But I'm going to do it because (1) I am fairly proud of quite a few of the pages, and (2) you guys had great ideas that look wonderful in reality, so I wanted to help you brag too.

I don't have full bragging rights--a few of the pages were done by my cousin Shannon; it was so nice to have her help and perspective.

The scrapbook is fairly personality-specific, which means the pages aren't light blue with Winnie the Pooh and babies in clouds. They're a bit edgy and unconventional, but so is Lindsay so it's perfect ("edgy" and "unconventional" are my excuses for "made by someone who rarely scrapbooks"). My favorite papers were from the nursery rhyme album. Those pages were all so cute, and glittery! Glue doesn't stick to glitter very well, though.

I got some fantastic flair for the pages--it's so hard to walk away from those aisles in the store. My favorite was this adorable animal mobile . . . that moves!

And I couldn't resist this totally cute duck with real feathers on his head--it's so Lindsay.

The pages are here, if you want to view them all. It was a really fun project, and I greatly appreciate all the insight and ideas you guys gave me. I had a blast integrating everything.
